I allowed one concession.

For hypothetical purposes, I took some of my off time and put together a new spreadsheet outlining the book.  I reworked the chapters so that, except in trivial places, nothing was summarized.  Each scene was played out by the characters, and supported by their words and actions.  I added notes that defined the location of each scene, so that I could use my new writing style to more effectively capture the environment around the characters.

Then, using very rough calculations, I made an estimate on how much time it would take to do the third rewrite.

Three months.

If I was fully dedicated to it.  If I paused the consulting business again.
