I had no idea how Denver Nights would do in a public market. 

But that’s part of selling a book.  Actually…that’s a part of selling anything.  You might be able to speculate on its popularity, but you just never know.  A thousand theories aren’t worth one real-world experiment.  You just have to give it a shot, hold your breath, and hope for the best.

And the self-publishing plan, the one I’d been sculpting with my dad, would add an interesting twist.
