The $9,000 was gone by then, but I still had an extra 6-8 weeks worth of living money stashed away. Enough of a buffer to ramp up the consulting business again. It would take me a little time to reestablish myself and start pulling in consistent revenue. I could put Denver Nights on hold and come back to it in another six months, maybe a year.
The manuscript was done, but it needed to be condensed. I also needed to proofread the entire thing several times, and do final editing. I estimated the tasks would take about a month. Close to all of the cash I had left.
And again, it wasn’t much of a decision at all.
